My name is Vonasha Petgrave, I am a resident and volunteer at Holbrook Indian School. Holbrook is a wonderful educational institution that provides a safe Christian setting, food, and housing for its youth. I personally did not know much about the reservation or the students that comprise the living quarters here, but I can say this: they are inviting, fun, big thinkers and have beautiful goals for their futures. Though they don’t have fancy internships or an extremely large campus, they do have the love and the support of the faculty and staff here. I’ve had a few conversations with some of the students here and some of them want to become nurses, work as a chemists, work in the journalism field and so much more!
Holbrook Indian School is a great boarding school for students not just to learn of educational material, but about one another as well. Some of the tribes represented are the Navajo, Apache, Sioux, Hopi tribes, and more. Not only is the Navajo Nation represented here on this campus but the Latin American community is represented here as well. To maintain a boarding school such as Holbrook Indian School, financial support would be greatly appreciated. By going online to holbrookindianschool.org you can find the donations link under their resources tab and click the “Give” button. Please feel free to check out their website as well, as it includes “HIS” Nation (Holbrook Indian School) newsletter articles, how the school will be approaching COVID-19, and even significant historical moments such as “The Long Walk”. This school cannot continue to move forward without great people such as yourselves and your support is greatly appreciated in advance.
Best regards,
Vonasha Petgrave
